September
September continues to be productive for a wide variety of fish on Mobile Bay. Fishing will remain good until we get some stronger cold fronts cool things off, then these fish will start their annual break for Mobile Bays surrounding river systems. |
August
August has been a great month for trout and Triple Tail on Mobile Bay. |
JulyJuly is here, and so are the Triple Tail (Black Fish)! Trout fishing was fantastic throughout June, and has been staying consistent in the early days of July. Flounder fishing is also starting to get good around Fairhope and Point Clear.

JuneJune was a great month, despite the many days of hard East winds. We got lucky that it was mostly Easterly winds. The whole East side of Mobile Bay iks protected from east winds, whereas the Western side of the bay is not.
Speckled Trout fishing was great around Weeks Bay, Fairhope, Point Clear and Daphne! |

Jan/Feb 2012
It was a tough January and into February with all of the rain we have gotten locally, and especially up in the northern areas of our river systems which have flooded Mobile Bay with muddy fresh water. It has however been extremely warm this winter, which means as soon as this waters cleans up a bit that it will be an early trout bite on Mobile Bay. I will begin my spring fishing in the Bay between fronts in the coming weeks. |
Nov/Dec 2011
Another great Fall on Mobile Bay and the Alabama delta for Speckled Trout and Red Fish. |

October 2011
Fishing is heating up all along the river systems of Mobile Bay! Blakely River, Tensaw River, and Mobile River have all been very productive for Redfish, Flounder, and Speckled Trout. Artificial baits and live baits have been equally productive for me this month. Magnolia River and Fish River, which empty into Weeks Bay just south of Fairhope, AL, have been extremely productive for Specks and Reds. Live Shrimp under a cork, soft body jigs under a cork, and topwater plugs early in the morning have been productive. Redfishing is great right now and should continue to be good around Perdido Pass in Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan. Speckled Trout fishing is also improving. Orange Beach, Soldiers Creek and Wolf Creek have been productive this October. |
September 2011
Flounder fishing was great this September in Mobile Bay. I mainly focused my Flounder fishing along the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, fishing near deepwater piers around Pt. Clear, Battles Wharf and The Grand Hotel. Mullet Point was another productive spot for Flounder, Redfish, and Speckled Trout. Towards the latter part of the month the north end of Mobile Bay was productive for Speckled Trout and Flounder as well. Deep piers around Montrose and Daphne, as well as some spots in the Blakely River all produced good numbers of fish for me. The Mobile River was also a good spot in September for Speckled Trout and Flounder. |
