May is coming to a close and the fishing this past few weeks has been fantastic. It is on track to be another great summer of fishing on Mobile Bay.

We have had many 30+ Trout days, the Flounder are starting to show up, and the Triple Tail fishing is heating up as I type.

Fort Morgan, Dauphin Island, Point Clear and the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay have all been good and should continue to be good through August.

Trout fishing has been good this past week both in the rivers, and in Mobile Bay. Red fishing  has been good in the rivers as well when the wind has been too much to get out in the bay.

We are starting to catch decent numbers of flounder as well while fishing for red fish in the shallows.

Saturday afternoon 3-24-12 was a windy one, but it didn't keep the trout from biting in the rivers!

March is here! March is the transitional month when the Speckled Trout and Red Fish move out of the rivers as the waters warm in Mobile Bay and start preying on baitfish in the shallow waters.

March is one of the most exciting months for me to fish because usually you have Mobile Bay almost to yourself because local anglers don't usually start hitting the water hard until May.

March is the time I get my topwater lures out, put my waders on and wonder off fishing piers and the shallow flats of the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay around Point Clear and Fairhope.

Early spring in Mobile Bay can produce some very large Trout in shallow water on both live bait, and artificial lures.

It is a time where it is exciting to get out of the narrow waters of the local rivers and into the open waters of Mobile Bay
